History

Kes was born in the slums of Ostiaris, a bustling port city of the Raith empire. Her parents died before she remembers, and her childhood was spent either in gangs of other children or bouncing in and out of various "reform houses." When she got bored with one she would escape, and short of chaining her to the bed there wasn't much any of them could do to keep her. Most of her crime is petty thievery, but she's recently taken a shine to second-story work and bigger hauls. If you're going to get arrested for stealing, might as well go for bigger prizes than pocket change and silk hankies, right?

She had been doing burglaries for a good six months, things were going smooth, when a job went wrong. She's sure someone ratted her out, because there's no reason why the alarms should have been that much better when she had just cased the house the day before. Unaware that she had turned 18 the week before (curse you Raithian record-keeping) she was tried as an adult and, given her previous record of breaking out of whatever place they put her in, was promptly tossed in the Keep. Fortunately for her, her sentence is only 4 years, and she has no intention of turning over a new leaf once she gets out.
